Guy Tillim
O Futuro Certo
O Futuro Certo comprises a selection of 150 photographs from Guy Tillim's works from the last two decades. His images taken across Africa, as well as Polynesia and in São Paulo, are rooted in the traditions of photojournalism but run counter to its spectacle. From exploring modernist architecture in Africa and its utopian ruins, to the private lives and homes of villagers in Malawi and inner-city residents in Johannesburg, these works quietly consider the complexity of representing the built environment and individuals and societies whose lives are altered by conflict. It is co-published by Steidl and The Walther Collection, and includes an interview with Artur Walther, an essay by Okwui Enwezor, entries from Guy Tillim's diary and a selection of articles.
