Jane Alexander’s PHOTO-BOOK was first published by the artist in 1995, as a small softcover book featuring her series of 42 black and white photomontages made between 1981 and 1995. The photomontages are republished here in their original order, with an essay by art historian Anna Tietze that was written in response to the original publication in 1996, and is published here, revised and expanded, for the first time.
