Portia Zvavahera: Zvakazarurwa accompanies the artist's first UK solo exhibition, opening at Kettle's Yard, Cambridge, in October 2024 and travelling to Fruitmarket, Edinburgh, in March 2025. Featuring key works made between 2012 and 2024, this beautifully illustrated book celebrates Zvavahera's materialisation of imagined worlds and patterned palimpsests. It is written by Tamar Garb, an authority on contemporary art from Africa as well as the work of women artists and feminist aesthetics, and includes a conversation between Garb, Sinazo Chiya, Tandazani Dhlakama and Pumla Gobodo-Madikizela.
