STEVENSON is pleased to announce an exhibition of painting and sculpture by Simphiwe Ndzube, his debut solo show with the gallery.
His most recent solo exhibition was Waiting for Mulungu at CC Foundation and Art Center, Shanghai (2018), an adaptation of Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot in which the artist examined the notion of 'theatre, the tragic and the epic'.
Ndzube currently features in the group exhibitions Hacer Noche in Oaxaca, Mexico, and Noise! Frans Hals, Otherwise at the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem, the Netherlands. For a recent interview with the artist, see the publication Nine More Weeks, in which he discusses his relationship with magical realism and transitional states.
The exhibition opens Thursday 24 January, 6-8pm.
